PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds new maps - everything we know about the forthcoming Adriatic and Island maps

PUBG small island map

The latest PUBG roadmap update revealed a new map; an island zone quarter the size of the game’s current maps. It will be deployed onto the Experimental Test Server in April 2018. The 4x4km size will mean a much higher player density; the same 100 players crammed into a map one quarter of the size we are used to. The intention is to create a “much more intense and faster paced Battle Royale experience” with shorter matches.
The map is made up of a cluster of three islands, with few built-up areas, suggesting finding loot will be a much more frantic and challenging experience than in the game’s first two maps.

The PUBG roadmap also talks of another new map that is 8x8km in size, which the team hopes to get onto the Experimental Test Servers as quickly as possible. This could well be the much discussed Adriatic map.
We know very little about the upcoming PUBG Adriatic map, but a few details about it can be gleaned from a forum FAQ on the official PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds site. It says the upcoming map is the same size as the original island map, Erangel, and located on an island in the Adriatic Sea. At its centre is a snowy cluster of mountains, offering the game’s millions of players somewhere they can finally wear those puffer jackets looted from all over Erangel. There will also be a stretch of Mediterranean coastline and a dense forest section of the map.
In terms of key buildings, only one has been mentioned: a massive, Soviet-era cosmodrome. Initially, Mr Unknown himself (or Brendan Greene, if you prefer) revealed to us that the cosmodrome would feature several massive buildings full of loot, but that the team have had to scale down their ambitions.pubg new map
